ASIA PANDEMIC CONGRESS & EXPO 2022 NEWS: MALAYSIA OPENS ECONOMY AND LIFT TRAVELS RESTRICTIONS AS ADULT VACCINATION RATE REACH 90%
 
 
       
  Starting 1 October 2021 (Friday), all States in Malaysia will move out of Phase One of Malaysia's National Recovery Plan (NRP), Prime Minister Ismail Sabri announced this on 29 September (Wednesday) after a Special Committee on Pandemic Management meeting.

Official government and private functions including inaugurations, congress, exhibitions and workshops are now allowed. At the same time, the Prime Minister have lifted the interstate travel ban and announced that Malaysians that have been fully vaccinated can travel overseas without the need to apply for MyTravelPass (MTP) starting from 11 October onwards. This is after 90 per cent of the adult population in the country have now been fully vaccinated.

These announcements are timely as Malaysia prepare to host the inaugural ASIA PANDEMIC CONGRESS & EXHIBITION 2022, which will be one of the largest gatherings of medical, government, NGOs and industry experts and professionals in Asia. Supported by the Ministry of Health, Malaysia, Malaysia Medical Council and the Malaysia Medical Association, the Congress, themed: Strategies For Regional Cooperation in Pandemic Preparedness, Respond and Management” will focus on key issues on managing future pandemics and fostering co-operation among Asian countries.
 
     
  Over 60 top industry experts and practitioners from key agencies including WHO will deliver papers on latest developments and share experiences in the 2-day Congress. The Congress and Expo is expected to welcome 250 exhibitors, 500+ delegates and 10,000 trade visitors from 20 countries.
